Part Of My Cypress Creek Hike & Bike Trails Labyrinth Hike

I hiked Cypress Creek Park at Timber Lane as a part of a longer hike of the Cypress Creek Hike & Bike Trails Labyrinth (aka Timberlane Trails) hike.  You can read my log of that hike here.

Cypress Creek Park at Timber Lane is a relatively new recreational development by the Timber Lane Utility District.  I am not sure when it was built, but it looks very recent.  I could not find any information about it at the present time on the internet, however. I found it while hiking the Cypress Creek Hike & Bike Trail, which I started at Timber Lane Park.  It is located on the west bank of the drainage gully west of the Timber Lane subdivision and is a combination of paved concrete trails and dirt trails through the woods.  There are numerous amenities and features, including the Herman Little Skate Park, which exists within a flood control reservoir.  It only consists of a couple of quarter-pipes at the present time.  The trails also go around several bodies of water, including Bird Pond, Big Lake, and Beaver Pond.  All of these looked like good fishing spots and have small wooden platforms/decks that you can fish from.  There is also a small playground for children and a dog park is currently being developed as well.

Given its location, this park will be linked up with the Cypress Creek Greenway Project and will soon connect to Herman Little Park on the other side of the Hardy Toll Road.  This section is currently closed to the public as it belongs to the railroad company.

I want to commend the Timber Lane Utility District for doing a really good job.  It is unusual (in my opinion) for a utility district to be so involved in developing parks and recreation areas, but I know for a fact (based on previous discussions with the Harris County Precinct 4 Parks & Recreation Manager) that they are working in sync and collaborating with Harris County and the Cypress Creek Greenway Project Team.

The only map I could find online is called "Union Pacific Park".  I am not sure if that will become the park's new name or if they decided to call it Cypress Creek Park at Timber Lane instead.  In any case, you can view that Union Pacific Park map here.
