Basically a sidewalk through the woods.

Rating: 2stars Difficulty: 1star Solitude: 5stars
Distance: 2.20 Miles Duration: N/A

I think the previous reviewer mistook this trail for another one. This trail is completely paved with concrete, so there is no possibility for erosion. It is basically a sidewalk through the woods. For that reason, I didn't really care for it. I prefer a dirt trail. At least it is shaded for the most part.

Sidewalk through the woods.

This is basically a sidewalk through the woods. For that reason, I didn't really care for it. I prefer a dirt trail. At least it is shaded for the most part. Noone else there while we were there. Probably different during the summer.

Lot's of solitude

Noone else out there while we were there. Nice wide trail with really wide bridges. Several composting toilets along the way.

Beautiful hike around a gorgeous lake!

Rating: 4point5stars Difficulty: 1point5stars Solitude: 5stars
Distance: 2.10 Miles Duration: 1 hour

What a beautiful park this is, and this trail takes you all around the shoreline of a gorgeous lake. You may not find solitude in the summer, but you sure can in the winter! We didn't see a single person the whole time! In fact, there are only 4 campsites occupied in the entire park! This is a nice, easy, peaceful walk with great views of the lake and campgrounds. Several fishing piers along the way also. Loved it!

Scenic and informative hike.
Tyler State Park - Whispering Pines Nature Trail - 2/4/2014  [View Log Page]
Rating: 4stars Difficulty: 2stars Solitude: 5stars
Distance: 1.00 Mile Duration: N/A

This is a mile long loop that takes you past some structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, such as a children's wading pool and a small waterfall. It also has signs with information about the various trees that grow in the area. It is a scenic and peaceful walk through the woods.
