Comments:

Penny and I were told by a park ranger that the lake was closed due to elevated levels of algae in the water.  Not a problem since we were only here to hike the trails.

We ended up doing a couple of loops around the lake, picking a different trail segment each time.  Even with a smaller crowd due to the lake being closed there were a number of families ad groups gathered in the main picnic areas, grilling up typical faire.

The trails are OK.  Traffic noise was a near constant companion.  The highlight of the visit was the bathouse and the landscaping and huge waterfall behind it.  We thought it would make for a good wedding reception location and sure enough, but our second loop around there was someone setting up just for that purpose.

With the added levels of algae in the lake, the levels of growth in the creek just to the south of the lake was through the roof.  Really did not smell very nice, but thankfully it was not long before we got to the lake and things were a bit better there.
