Looking for longer hiking opportunities in Texas? How about a thru-hike across the entire state?

Dave Roberts did just that and his long odyssey through the Lone Star State is just one of many adventures he's had in recent years that will leave you impressed. What's more impressive than the triple crown of hiking? Well, you could always walk, bike or paddle your way to each trailhead from the previous outing!

He must have meandered all across the state since the listed number of state parks he visited stretched from Eisenhower State Park down to at least Palmetto State Park. That's a pretty wide range for someone heading east to west to get to New Mexico.

His choice of footwear is a bit surprising. I remember years ago going to vacation in Europe with a brand new pair of shoes. Bad idea. Dave goes through shoes as he walks and doesn't miss a beat.

Yes, this might not qualify as a pure thru-hike given his medical side trip in the middle, but an impressive feat nonetheless.
